For those that are perplexed by this post. Angel Giraldez was in town with his GF and had trouble getting to Indy for Gencon and lsl drove them down there. All part of our goodwill efforts to get him to come back for Adepticon. Hopefully for the release of his secret project.

Sorry to all. Just wanted JP and John to know I had gotten him there as they knew I had helped him out, but have no e-mail capabilities on my old Ipad. I also didn't know Angel was going to almost immeadiately post the group pic he and Mary wanted to take of us upon arrival to the Studio Guiraldez facebook. Angel and Mary are extremely nice people, enjoyed their time in Chicago, and sounded like they would like to come back someday.

By the way show your support for his secret personal project after he announces it tomowrrow. I saw some of it, it was very cool, and it sounds like he needs to get an idea handle on the public response/support for it.

Well, when we feed him Gibson's...

I don't think that did it. Gibsons sucked.

Gibson's did suck, worst "voted best burger in chicago" I've had... We'll definitely need to find some better places to feed Angel and Mary (assuming she is coming). Then as time gets closer plan to get reservations and a schedule together to get them free of the Con and out into the area a bit.

Speaking of best burgers.
The hotel I stayed at had a "local pub burger."
Standard "upscale" burger stuff, certified grass fed angus, garlic aoli mayo, etc.
But what caught me was that it was topped with bacon jam.
Bacon. Jam.
Two words that should not go together.
At my surprised expression, my waitress (best service ever) just said "I know it looks odd, but you need to try it. It's amazing."
Amazing didn't quite do it justice.
That bacon jam took an ordinarily "good" burger into the heights of an art form. Something that has to be experieced to believe.
Much like what Cheeseology (sp?) did to Mac & Cheese in St. Louis.
Wow.

The Martha Stewart one, or the bourbon maple one? Both actually sound like fun to make.

My brother in law made some for brats at a BBQ and it was the cats pajamas. He also made his own pub cheese.

Jeff Mauro won the Chicago Gourmet Burger hop contest with that burger, I think something was lost in translation with that one.
