Rumor on Dakkadakka is that Antenociti is doing Infinity Drop ships. Some concept art is here. But at the time it had nothing to do with Infinity.

Yes, this was discussed on BoLS. They are designing vehicles and drop ships and potentially starting a Kickstarter for it.

So it's just for home brewed rules use?

It has been noted that Corvus said it couldn't balance vehicle rules... but then again, I don't think we are far enough along to have any real info one way or another.

ya I think just the moddeles would be cool to play around or maybe for a special mission but not for turoment play infinity was not made for something like that and it is great for house rules but I think as official rules they need to stay away from them

It would be kinda cool for the Mechanized troops to use. It can only drop them off and then depart.

The upside to it being their would be additional cover for models while it was their when it takes off all sorts of new shooting lanes could be opened up for people that were on either side of it. If you don't know when it is going to take off exactly as well it could make a fun piece to run around hoping it gives you cover as long as you need it for before it takes off and their is a sniper hidden on the other side of it waiting to shoot the people left behind.

You could have to extract part of your team using the drop ship. The other player can attempt to force it to leave early by causing damage to it. The drop ship could have some point defense weapons that may only be fired in aro. If it leaves pull it from the board.
Or
You have to secure a landing area. Have the ship drop. Release some one or something that has to be taken somewhere else on the board This could be interesting if the opponent has a limited opportunity to hack the drop ship and have it land where they want and prevent you from getting the cargo or take it for themselves.

Just questioning if others might be seeing dropships in casual play and how they think that these would fit in? But, I definitely see these at the core of scenarios in future gaming.
Blackhawk Down: Crashed dropship is in deployment zone A, opponent starts in Depolyment zone B, crashed ship/small team needs to fend off capture by enemy for X turns before extraction team arrives.
Abduction (or data heist ala Elysium): Attacker has X turns to bring down dropship prepping for inbound/outbound flight at center of zone and extricate the payload. Defender has the dropship plus a reduced team to defend it.
Extraction point: Have to establish a zone (again i see it versus a reduced enemy that recieve so many points reinforcments per turn) get figures into a ship, and escape.
