Beasts of War announced early in their latest The Weekender video that an upcoming week (I think this next week, 10/6-10/10) will be Infinity N3 week! Also in that video they talk about Angel's painting book being limited edition to 5k copies (his choice since he's publishing it, I think was said...) and pre-order-able soon, N3 will be pre-order-able soon, and they talk about some amazing new MDF terrain that comes pre-colored (up through about minute 25 is all Infinity-related, excepting some breaks to dismiss Carlos so he doesn't excitedly spill news on N3 before. Finally, at about 46:40, they begin a discussion about laser-cut terrain, which I know at least some of you are interested in (though I've recently been getting ideas for an ocean-based board on an oil or other resource platform for general play). [Addendum: Oh, wow, you guys should definitely watch this laser cutting thing, IMO. Intricate etching and some crazy designs!] Whenever Infinity N3 week actually happens, I'll be using this thread to summarize those videos from BoW since I know that some of you hardly watched any of those videos and really liked my summaries, so I'll try to do this sometime the day of each video release.

Did you noticed the very quick image of the Hacker chart? That new troop that showed up looked like a Merc to me.

I wouldn't be able to say much about models that aren't PanO (something I should maybe remedy so I can more quickly determine tactics & strategy and how to counter it), but I'm definitely excited about that hacker table. I couldn't really read the headers of the columns or rows, but I know one of the columns was talking about the valid target(s) of a given program. I saw the usual ones of "HI, TAG, REM" indicating the immobilize program, one just for TAGs likely indicating possession, and I think one that was "ARM" which could be a newer one.
Then there's the topic from Mayacast on the official forums that sort of confirmed that Hack>FO will be moved from Hacking Device+ to all Hackers, which I think was one of the ones with a "-" or blank target to indicate all units are valid targets.
Overall, I'm excitedly anticipating seeing the Hacking table more clearly and being fully revealed, as well as what EVO will now provide, the overall cost changes to weapons, equipment, stats, etc., and just everything N3!

I heard about different levels of hacking devices that have different things it can do. I wonder if you will be able to take them for different point costs like a weapon.

There are supposedly two new types of hacking device. Each different device will have access to different programs.

Alright guys, here we go! Video 1: What's Coming in 3rd Edition?- N3 only replaces the basic N2 Rulebook, not Human Sphere or Paradiso. However, anything in N3 that modifies things from those books will be spelled out in N3 that the new rule overwrites the old (example given: Spitfires)
- Project: Acheron Falls: Svalarheima, USAriadne, and others. Seems to be two sects per faction (or at least per human faction). Sometime after N3 settles in.
- Two books, very cool covers (watch the video, the covers are close to 12:30). Obviously, one has the fluff and one the rules.
- New Combine starter (~15:30).
- Every faction is getting some new unit/model, even (it seems) for those sectorials that won't be coming out until Acheron Falls.
- Mostly just more artwork and models throughout the rest of the video. Lots of Combine, a few humans.
Bonus day 1 video: Table Chat #1. It only discusses some terrain pieces and the story they came up with for the setup they made, but it's an interesting looking table if you wanna check it out, IMO.

Welp, by circumstance, I'm still up (shouldn't be, but whatever...). As luck would have it, that means that I'm able to bring the 3rd and 4th video summaries to you guys..! (Edit: I was still up at the time I wrote this, but forgot to hit Save, lol!) Video 3: Rules: Retreat!- Charts, charts, CHARTS!!!
- Retreat marker: If this new marker is next to a unit, they are "Non-combative". They can only perform movement skills and Dodge (Carlos: "and be scared, aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!"). They cannot make any attacks. They do not automatically move towards your table edge. They are not impetuous.
- All the original 3 Order-related markers are still there, as well as the new Lieutenant Marker introduced in Op: Icestorm.
- Spelled-out game sequence chart:
- Start of turn: Tactical Phase
- First, check if in retreat.
- Second, check if in LoL.
- Count out orders.
[li]Impetuous Phase ("Red phase")
- Orders Phase ("Green & Yellow phase")
- End of turn: Clean up. Resolve end-of-turn events. If and only if you were in LoL, elect a new Lt.
[/li][li]Retreat Values Chart! 75% casualties triggers it, so having 25% of your army alive or less (slight change, used to be strictly less than the 40% value) puts you in retreat. Example: 300 pts in army, at 75 pts left or less, you're in retreat. [/li][li]Retreat Chart!!! (Normal below means that they have none of the special rules outlined further below to remove their "white flag")- Normal Units: Irregular in LoL, Irregular and Non-combative in Retreat!
- Normal Impetuous Units: Impetuous & Irregular in LoL, Irregular and Non-combative in Retreat
- Courage & Remote Presence: Irregular in both LoL and Retreat! (i.e. They can still attack) All levels of Martial Arts provide Courage for free.
- Regular, Religious troops: Irregular in LoL, Regular in Retreat!
- Veteran Level 1: Regular in both LoL and Retreat!
- MORAT: Regular in both LoL and Retreat!
[/li][li]Note about orders in retreat: If the model generates an Irregular order, you can choose to move off of the table to protect that model's points from being claimed by the opponent. If the model generates a Regular order, you do not have this option with that model and must either fight or die with it!!![/li][li]Interesting comment from the video: In playtesting, apparently N3 has become a lot more survivable to the point where Retreat doesn't usually come until turn 4 or 5 instead of turn 2-3, and not just because of the retreat changes (cuz crits cancel each other, and I think so do ties..? I'll double check that when my Icestorm box arrives, well, today.)] [/li][/ul]
Video 4: Rules: Command Tokens!
- Command Tokens used only during your turn.
- Normally, only 4 Command Tokens per game. You can use them all in a single turn if you wish, no restrictions besides it being your turn and the limited resource. Use them wisely...
- (Edit: Might as well include that Sun Tze provides a 5th Command Token.)
[li]What can they do?!? - Make fireteams
- Make an Irregular Order become a Regular Order
- Make one troop avoid the "Retreat!" state [Hmm, not sure if this is only for a turn
- Re-roll a Healing roll for figures with "Cube".
- Re-roll a Repairing roll for figures with "Remote Presence"
- Liberate a TAG from the "POS" (Possessed) state [Comment: Hmm, this means that it's harder than just a Reset to remove POS... Interesting...]
- Transfer a unit from one combat group to another combat group. [Might make 11-13 unit lists more viable, rather than having a huge gap where it's infeasible to justify the unit count due to lack of orders for the smaller group, or lack of orders for everything.
- ... And more [oooooooOOOOoooo, spoooOOoopy! Also, evil Carlos!!!]
[/li][/ul]
One rumored use is doing a Coordinated Order action, which was mentioned during Op:I week and consists of spending the Command Token and one Order (not a number equal to the number of models moving) to move up to 4 models.

Surprise! Yet another rules video! Video #5: Templates (how is this > 20 minutes??)- No more partial cover from templates (i.e. you don't get the +3 ARM bonus).
- Dodge a template, Normal PH Roll dodge (no minuses!!!)
- Enemy not in LoS (behind "or beyond.. [something something]")? You can still Dodge the template with a PH-3 roll. This also applies to shotgun blasts when you don't have LoF to the shooter of the shotgun.
- Can only make an attack if you have LoF to the primary target (pretty much same as current)
- Total cover still protects you completely from a template (Carlos calls it "Blast focus", presumably the origin of the "blast"
- As expected (and I think no change, but it does clarify via image example), units do not provide total cover from a template.
- As long as silhouette gets hit, model gets hit.
- Origin of template must touch the silhouette of the firer, allowing for something like shooting a chain rifle or flamer high over cover to hit a prone model a distance away and his friend on top of a container (see video, ~10:27).
- Also works with shotgun aiming: choose your point of origin (such as your shotgunner's feet) in order to hit the head of an enemy at ground level and then, on successful hit, template up to hit a guy on top of a container (~11:22).
- OMG!!! Shotguns always place their template!!!!!!!! Same with Missile Launchers! These are called Terminal Template weapons, as opposed to flamer & chain being Direct Templates.
- If you're part of the template and have LoF, and you decide to shoot the shooter of the Terminal Template weapon, your roll is FtF against their same roll against the primary target. Basically, if you would be affected by a weapon, either as the target or as part of a Template, and you have LoF (target always has LoF, Templated extras not always), you can react normally and it acts kinda like how reactive Dodge vs. a coordinated order works, is my guess.
- Smoke counts as a template weapon for all purposes despite being non-damaging. Dodge can negate a smoke template if you're the target of the template. (Not sure how it works if multiple people are "hit" by the smoke template, tho, and they didn't go into whether a Smoke grenade can still target empty ground... Might need to wait until an Ammunition rules video...)

Shotguns always place their template? Interesting. Now to see how often I can hurt myself by forgetting that rule.
