I won't be able to play tomorrow but hope to stop by. I have a code for the event. Just get me the $20 from the entry fees.
I'm guessing you'll have 10 to 12.

Thanks again to everyone for coming out yesterday! Special thanks to Luis (I believe our newest participant) for making the trek, and it was great to see Sean and Allen again (congrats Allen for a hard-fought third place). Hope to see you guys again in January and February at Games Plus for our next regular group Tourneys.
Quick note to Luis: I was an idiot and did not copy down your last name and ITS number (if you have one...ITS number). Please shoot me a post here or a text (630-780-7070) and we'll get that info recorded for yesterday's match.
Thanks to Mike Kuo for co-judging (and for doing a great job "fixing" the scoring spreadsheet). As always Mike, having you on hand as the "walking Infinity Wiki" is a massive asset for any tournament.
Congratulations to our champions: First place: Chris Second Place: Alex Third Place: Allen
As I mentioned when we began, yesterday was the first time we have run a 400/8 tournament and the goal (other than having fun stomping each other into the dirt) was to see if the Infinity game system would stress under the points pressure (or even break). Not surprisingly, I did not see any significant areas in the rules or the tournament system that needed adjusting (other than needing to adjust the OPs for using Annihilation scenario based on a 400 point scale rather than 300). I also did not see where any of the rules broke or were bent for having so many points on the board. If anyone felt differently or saw areas that would need to be addressed before trying this kind of tourney again please sound off.
The only thing I noticed that was different while running a 400 point match was the time factor. The actual Round time limits were as follows: Round 1 (2 hrs), Round 2 (1:40) and Round 3 (1:30). The first round ran 2 hours mostly out of necessity since both Kuo and I saw it took a little while for everyone to get used to running or reacting to so many troops on the board. By round two most everyone had settled in and we had only one game that was given an extra 10 min and eventually called for time. Round three went as smooth as glass (everyone done before 1:30 time limit). I suppose my question for everyone is..."would you recommend we keep big point games to the same 1:30 game time limit, or increase the time limit?"
As always, you guys are the best bunch of gamers to hang out with and even though I didn't play I had a great time. Merry Christmas to everyone and I look forward to seeing you all in January.

I think the longer time for the first round was helpful. But overall I don't think the 90 minutes time limit is too short.

Once I figured out how to play 400 points 90 minutes was more than enough.

I'm glad everything went smoothly. 90min being enough time is awesome. Thanks Mike for running this one, now only if I was available to play when someone else runs one. We've got January and February all but set up for the next two. They will follow formats being played at Adepticon. March is almost figured out. That means 7 tourneys with Adepticon to start out season 2014. Hope you guys don't get burned out on infinity. Thanks again to Mike&Mike for Helmont the event and for Draxtar for having us.

It's been broke, we've been fudging with it ever since acon. If only there was someone with excel experience to fix or redo it!

How complicated is the sheet? Mike was able to fix it I thought? I can look at it and maybe see if I can help?

I couldn't get the second sheet to auto fill in with the players to play each other.
