I can't possibly make every event due to school/work.
I'm willing to play again next year. But if I "win" another warpath box I'm going to use it for something amusing immediately.

And not to mention that Amarillo has like nothing in it, and if you aren't careful you'll drive right through the town.

That's not true. Amarillo has "working girls."
A Texas County sheriff made sure to point that out to me one memorable traffic stop outside of Amarillo.

Also the guys that organized it were from Colorado, not Texas. Sent from my HTC6500LVW using proboards Not my people, why the hell would you choose Amarillo Texas over anything in Colorado??? I should have their license revoked for that.

I think if you look at the overall numbers (total of all players over all events) the experience is a success. Numbers overall where up as you all (I sadly was not there to boost numbers) and the buzz sounds pretty positive.
I think next year with the planned "big tourneys" like the GT and Team along with open play and scenario events we should have good numbers again.
As for the no shows to the GT it isn't too surprising. I wonder how many people signed up and then got pulled into another round? Also if they paid to play in the event and bailed maybe something came up. I wonder how many asked for refunds because they couldn't play? Can they even ask for a refund?
Bottom line the GT with 19 players is pretty good, especially on the Saturday when you are going neck and neck with the Big Tournaments for 40K (Team), Fantasy (if anyone really plays that), Warmachine/Hordes (this year it was Team which is really popluar) and I don't know what else.

Here is an odd thought... The next campaign book is rumored to be campaign earth....what if we did a battlefield Chicago style event, build some Chicago themed tables and play human sphere vs aliens.

That could be fun I was working on trying to start to build some high rise building at least 5-6 stories big if we maybe had a bunch of those all around the edges of the battle field and maybe only like 2 story buildings in the middle that could be allot of fun.

How about we build two city blocks as two 4X4 boards. The bean and a block east or daly plaza and block 37 with an interior mall that can be also used for a zombie game.

we could maybe use something like that for the bike race as well if you can run all the way around the outside streets or have the first street like 8" in or something like that and then have bike races around an 8x4 when they are pushed together. the main thing would be do you put a street on the outside or inside of this.

Sorry about that... Out off town.
Scale based on the figure I checked was 33 mm to eye, if that is 5.75' (average human height) then 1" =4.43' Rough scalar of block 37 in the loop is 1/16 a mile = 330', So a block in scale is 75" long... approx really 2x+ bigger than a table.
Easy to fix though. If we took the most recognizable side facing the plaza and the picasso and included the picasso, it would be easier. Bean area would also be easier to scale, provided someone could actualy do the bean justice in scale.

Need to get some photos of the area. But it won't be hard as I am just down the street. I should be able to translate it. The problem is the bean itself... could model it as a framework then try to fill and sand it... or do it as skeleton and ruins.
