After I paced it off this morning I believe that particular jelly belly is too large. Will try to get a better pace count on my way home and post a size, in case there is an alternative out there that someone can find. But, if this is a direction where we really want to head, I was also thinking that bean could be modified into part of a mood-setting vignette. For this we use that jelly belly as bean parts splitting it east to west with a crashed ship at angles through it and the restaurant below and into the ice ring… As far as Millenium Park proper around the bean goes, it all look relatively easy to do: -All the offset detailing is accomplished with a mdf skeleton system, a back layer of thin PVC to do the bends (burned with guides for placing face panels), and again thin pvc glued on to a face panel layer -Signage on the face of stone is accomplished by getting lettering burned into/through a thin plastic face layer. In regards to other terrain projects, I was going to Plus to talk Ken or MrGeorge about feasability of this idea on Friday night anyway. -The freestanding limestone shapes have a lot of kerfs, but could be simplified to just have these as steps via burning around the edged of the cut shapes. -Similarly, unless we can find a good scale replica of the balusters on the stairs these can be simplified -Trees are good right now in winter to early sping as they can just be to-scale sticks, to give these some longevity we can do cheap putty around pvc plug-ins for where the trees go, so they can be removed -Evergreen bushes are foam clumps, easy to do and repair -Need to find a to-scale set of lights and park benches -As far as playability goes, given what a corporate whore the park is already I don't see a problem adding a butt-load of holo signs to fill the IRL empty courtyard space around the bean Thoughts?

I don't think we'd have to get much burned for this. Could easily do it in pink foam carved up and coated with a pva/joint compound mix.
I like the idea of the bean being crashed into.

I agree that these could fit in over a pink foam structure for a cost savings. But, the reason I bring it up is that I think that the plaza really is lacking in detail and that what details it has need to be acentuated. Also any detailed face pieces could be fit in as filler pieces on sheets of the larger terrain project I am committing to on my own over the next 6 months.
Crashed through the bean also solves the issue of getting that central arch right, which appears to be the hardest part.
