Hey guys, I just got my copy of Operation Icestorm, and have started painting them. I've only played a couple of the demo games so far, but I'm super excited for Infinity. I'm having trouble deciding what to play. I was going to start with Nomads, but it sounds like everyone and their dog plays Nomads; is this true? Otherwise, I might start with Scottish Ariadna, or Yu Jing, or Morats, or Tohaa, or maybe even do an Aleph force. I don't know!!! Someone tell me what to do please!
Anyway, until I decide what to start with, I'm going to try some new painting schemes. I was thinking about doing my OI Pan-O a chrome green, and the nomads....perhaps white? Or I could do them as a chrome orange instead, but I'm not sure there's enough armor on them to really make it worth it.
Thoughts?
So, I'm sure I'll be looking for games soon, if anyone doesn't mind playing some smaller games with me.

Welcome to the group. Local there's a huge mix of armies being played, most of us play multiples. There isn't a saturation of any particular one, especially not nomads.

Which LGS are you playing out of or close to? Some of us have also been doing dojo north down in the city lately on Thurs night and I think there may be a push for getting dojo south on track for Saturdays soon. Other places may have players near.

That's plenty. Pick one of the two factions and use the other as proxies. Just try to use similar for similar. Line infantry for the same and so on.

No problem, new guy at the store is in the same boat. He is playing Nomads from the starter box, bring PanO and you guys can do a 150 pt battle. We'll help out with the rules. |

Hi and welcome! Angron's right, there's not a huge presence of one army over another in the local area. I'm primarily Nomads, but branching out into other directions (tohaa, JSA, PanO) since I've been playing Nomads mostly exclusively for 3 years? Really fun army, though. You'll see a lot of nonsense on the Infinity Forums about which army has an "advantage" but that's mostly bunk.  Play what you want. It's much more fun that way. |

People show up around 5:30-6. there are lots of places to pickup some grub and bring in the store.

Would be great to see another new face at Dojo North, as we still seem to be trying to get up to critical mass there. And don't rule out Games Plus for an occasional Saturday game, as it is only a block from the Metra on its end. I still head there from downtown pretty often on the weekend pass.

Thanks for the info, guys! Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this week because my wife and I are headed to Kentucky for the extended weekend. But, I'll see y'all the next week, I'm sure.
