I have long lists of things that this word could encompass... but, what does it bring to you mind?

Industrial space elevator, basically a future seaport/distribution center.

If you're thinking ground based, a series of elevated platforms and catwalks with various tubes and grabby arms. The platforms extend out from a central complex that has various rooms and such in it. Maybe a bazaar.

Thanks guys, this goes right along with my thinking. While the orbital elevator hits the main planetary cargo delivery for infinity's orbits, I am thinking more of a ground based, multi-level complex that is a local level service facility for dropships/dropcarriers. As far as I can tell no one has done much more than put a few landing pads on roofs up until this point, so I am thinking that this is an idea with unique promise. I like the fuel farm, launch facility, and central command hub layout of that orbital port, while Mos eisley, 1313, and Nowhere from the Guardians movie are a good start for lived-in future with lots of referents. Digging the idea of doing a haqq bazzar, maybe several unique modular shops lining a few streets leading to the port's gate.
If anybody has images they like, please post links here.

MULE system is nice, but definitely thinking bigger for the landing pads.
