If I have a Speculo Killer (or any model, for that matter) in base contact with an enemy and a different enemy model activates that my SK can see, am I able to declare a BS ARO at the now active model? Are there any negative mods applied to me for shooting out of a combat? Furthermore, if the active model decides to shoot into my combat, does that affect whether or not I can shoot back? If I can't shoot back, what other AROs can I perform to protect my SK?
Also, as a side note, can I gain cover from an enemy model that I'm in CC with? If so, do I also gain the +3 ARM/BTS from having cover?
Sorry about all the questions, more kept coming to me as I typed out this scenario. Thanks for any help you can offer.

When you are in base contact with an enemy model, your LoF is 360 degrees but only in base contact. So if a model spends an order (even in your "front 180"), you will not be able to declare an ARO. Because of this, you cannot shoot out of combat.
If the active model shoots at you while you are in combat, you are unable to react to them (possible exception being if you have sixth sense level 2). You do not gain cover from the enemy model in combat with you; however the enemy takes a -6 mod to their shot and if they roll in that -6 range, they shoot their ally instead.
