Not the most balanced or optimal force, but it had things I wanted to try out.
I won the initiative roll and chose deployment, we decided that the objectives that ended up on terrain would require climb rolls to get into base to base contact.
Brian took the first turn and moved his Shaolins and an engineer up to the objective on the flank using a smoke train to get to it. Almost out of orders I pointed out that in order to get points for the objective you have to camp on the marker and he promptly move one of his total reaction remotes to cover the objective.
With his last two orders he brought on a BS Tiger soldier to harass one of my nagas that was covering a flank. The nagas ARO was to drop a mono mine. When the tiger soldier attacked both our shooting was ineffective but the mine did its job.
This missions exclusion zone rule really limits where models can come in or forward deploy. It's easier for infiltrators to cover the flanks and keep Ad2 troops from wrecking your day or taking objectives late.
My first turn started with my Akalis coming in to attack Brian's cheerleaders that were on the side that the objective he was holding was. I was able to surprise and kill Zhanshi and then kill a Shaolin while falling to his chain rifle. I was hoping to neutralize the remote with the hacker but that wasn't to be. I think i used my other naga to fIrst strike kill his engineer and mine the objective. I then proceeded to get into a shoot out using my Bagh Mari HMG to eliminate his remote. That ended my turn.
Turn two had Brian using a hacker to take the objective that was nearest his deployment zone and subsequently covering it with another total reaction remote.
My second turn started with me walking one of my nagas up to get a shot at the hacker only to be stopped by the Hidden deployed Hac Tao. I stopped spending orders on the naga and attempted to use the Dragoe to attack the other side of the board. He killed the other remote a Dao Fei and the Hacker on the objective. That ended my turn
Brian's third turn saw him in retreat and as he had no one else who could claim an objective we called the game a 0 to 0 tie.
I liked the mission, it really makes you play to the objectives.
