I'm thinking of adding a op for fully painted armies at our tournaments. It would probably be 1 per round.
Thoughts?

Pretty nice incentive I think.

Sounds like a good idea, and it will encourage more painting--even slow pokes like me. Not to mention, it'll be a kickstart to getting ready for Adepticon.

I definitely get more done with a goal in mind. Each tournament I would try to get at least one figure completely done.

I just listened to the most recent o12 podcast and they brought up the fact that at Templecon the winner was decided by this kind of painting scoring
Do you guys care if you get second behind someone that only beat you because hi models were painted?

I don't mind if they are painted well but if paint is just slapped on then I'd probably be irritated by it.

I think judging the quality of painting quickly becomes a very slippery slope.
How many people remember how soft scoring quickly screwed up 40k? *raises hand*
If someone makes an attempt to paint--give them the credit for it.
You start judging by gradations of skill and it's no longer about how good you are tactically, or lucky with dice, as it is by how much you paid some pro to paint your army for you.
Which would not be a good thing.

1 pt point per round for a painted army (painted being 3+ colors? regardless of skill cause we don't need to push the new people away)
An Award for the army voted to be painted "best"
I would be annoyed if someone beat me for first (or realistically 2nd to last) just because they painted their model better.

I guess it's good that it's not judged on quality. But 1pt per round? Maybe just 1 for the whole tournament.

One per round means it's worth one objective. Not a terrible idea. It would've meant John and I swapping places at the last tourney, as I think he was fully painted, whereas I was only partially so.

Nope I wasn't painted at all. But I do have fully painted lists.

Could the 1 OP point change the over all rankings? Sure it could. However as the rules already state/ask for a painted army (by Adepticon rules 3+ colors) then I don't see any harm to this.
Really it means that I have to start painting.

True--this will have no impact on Adepticon (though, like the year before last-painting quality was used as a points tie-breaker) but should give a little more oomph to the non-Adepticon games.

This isn't for Adepticon. It's for all local tourneys going forward. Adepticon is what it is. They just changed their painting requirements, more strict, I don't think it'll affect infinity at all.
