One thing though. What if you use a painted figure for a proxy? I don't think it should be allowed as fully painted if you are using a proxy for a model that is available. I can understand if there’s no available model though. Like an Aswang with Combi-rifle with adhl, or a Raiden with HRL. But swapping for something you just haven't bought and/or painted yet doesn't seem fair.

I really doubt people are going to try to game the system that much.
Plus, sometimes you absolutely hate the sculpt. EG: in Adepticon 2012, I played a guy in the final round--Tim, I think, with a gorgeously painted Yu Jing army. I mean--stunning almost Golden Demon quality stuff.
But he proxied an oniwaban using Saito Togan. Because he hated the oni sculpt. (which, apparently, quite a few people do...)
Saito was just as amazingly painted as the rest of his army. Should he have lost points for that?
I would say no. It's too much quibbling.

This is getting a little out of hand. I never meant it as anything game breaking. Just a little something for those who go the extra mile. We'll try it for the first tourney after Adepticon if it causes issues then we won't do it again.

I think people get a bit concerned when painting will affect the final overall score of an event or tournament. As I never place very high it isn't a big deal to me! Something you may try is all people who particapte with a fully painted army will get a raffle ticket for a chance at a prize. This way it encourages painting but has no impact on the final standings.

For me it might be the only point I get! But that's a pretty good idea. I do think painted stuff should be encouraged. I'm just not sure how.

What I suggested to John today, is instead of a Bonus Point Each round, you can substitute one of your classified objectives, for being painted.

And I love it. There isn't the potential for extra points it just makes missions easier for the player that put forth the effort to paint his stuff.

Go for it. Seems like a sound idea.

Having fully painted armies on the table is good for the game. The Ooo and Ahhh factor of painted minis on the table brings in new players.
