So it seems that at every tournament, at least one mini decides to lose a limb, weapon, vane, antenna, whatever.
Sometimes, the piece disapears into the aether ne'er to be found again. It's getting a bit annoying.
Anyone have any experience pinning the smaller (non TAG/40mm base) minis? Any success? Recommended bit size?

I don't do it cuz I'm lazy. I bought a pin vise kit that came with some tiny bits and used to use the one that was the same size as a paperclip Attachments:

If you are going to pin paperclips size is best. It's the easiest to find replacements for. P3 makes some small bit/wire combo packs but not sure how fine it gets.

I pin everything including the tiny bits like antennas and the like. A paper clip is too big for that stuff so I either use stiff wire purchased form a model railroading hobby shop or floral wire purchased in bulk from walmart or hobby lobby. It may require you to purchase tiny drill bits bit the stability of the figures is worth it. Infinity is the worst for pinning because of the scale of the miniature body parts so go slow and dont force it. It is also a good idea to stick the drill into a bar of soap periodically as a lubricant for drilling.

one thing I have started to try I read on the infinity forum instead of trying to pinning all the small bits they said just scouring them before gluing them works really well.

Hobby town USAin Orland Park also sells mini drill bits. The .038 has worked for me on other minis. Infinity models are very fine & I haven't tried pinning them yet. I also bring super glue and accelerant to tournaments because bits just seem to want to fall off models, pinned or not
