Let me just say the word "Halqa".

Not to be too tangental, but I can't see "Halqa" without my brain immediately converting it to Sgt. Hulka.
"You better hit those bunks my little babies, or Sergeant Hulka with the "big toe" is gonna see how far he can stick it up your ass."

Sweet, more rules! www.beastsofwar.com/infinity/icestorm-battle-report/- Inaction half action! You can just sit and wave at people to draw out AROs if you're planning to sit still and shoot during your turn.
- No changes to tiebreakers. Take the highest modified BS in case of a tied die roll, and nullify if that ties too.
- MI still remain 4-2... Not entirely sure why they decided to buff HI to 4-4 except for fluff reasons (leg servos!), unless it's because Hackers are going to be even stronger...
- Silhouette blocks line of sight to units behind it relative to an enemy, so it seems very much like they adopted cylinders.
- I don't think Prone gets used in the Icestorm rules, either, since the Grenzer automatically counted as standing after being healed...
- Heh, no special ammo for any of the Icestorm missions.
- Hmm, I think he's making fun of his own company for the sometimes misogynistic poses they put the female models in near the end (all the girls in this starter box aren't in action poses, just pointing or showing leg, and also have "combat heels").

Also, new vid from BoW explicitly for N3 rules compared to O:I rules. www.beastsofwar.com/infinity/3rd-ed-rules-revealed/- Lieutenant Order is solely for the Lt. to be used like a free, extra order. It is no longer used to form Fireteams, etc. Being in LoL is much less harsh in making all of your generated orders Irregular orders, and then after the turn of irregularity, you secretly elect your new Lt. for free.
- Those other things the Lt. Order used to be used for will now be relegated to things called Command Tokens/Markers, which apparently will also be expanded in their uses and could even be used in LoL. We won't be receiving any more info besides this teaser about Cmnd Markers until closer to N3.
- MSV changes:
- MSV1 now just always reduces the penalty of the various forms of Camo by -3, thus negating Mimetism & Camo penalties and reducing ODD & TO Camo to only a -3 penalty. It's not known whether this will have any effects on Zero Vis zones/Smoke.
- MSV2 is unchanged: negates all camo-style penalties, negates Smoke/ZVZs, etc.
- MSV3 has a net wash of changes. You can no longer shoot at a model under a marker (reasoning was that it interfered with Camo's rules of being able to have multiple models under one marker). Instead, you have to spend a Short Move Skill to Discover it as usual. However, this Discover skill automatically uncovers the marker thanks to MSV3, no roll required. Also, MSV3 negates the Surprise Shot penalty from the new version of Combat Camo (to basically reset it back to the original "I can still see you bright as a light...", but using the new rules).
- Infiltration: You can still deploy up to your half of the board for free, no roll required. However, to reduce the effectiveness and increase the risk involved with aggressive infiltration (past the halfway mark), there are multiple changes:
- Roll is now always PH-3, regardless of how deep you infiltrate.
- If you fail the roll, you no longer scatter. Instead, you must now deploy the model within your deployment zone, and you lose the ability to use things like Minelayer.
- AD3 Combat Jump: Scatter is now always 16" when you fail your PH check, and the direction of the scatter is always a second die roll. They changed it to not require people to do semi-complex arithmetic based on the failure category and I think also to better control where you can expect to land.

I hate all of these changes. Everything is stupid.
Nah, it's all good. The only thing I don't get is why 16" for scatter?
Hopefully it makes sense in game.
Thanks Sphendule for watching the videos cuz I still haven't had a chance to.

16" for scatter certainly makes AD3 more risky.
Or more reason to include an EVO repeater.

They went with straight 16" scatter to reduce the math that had to be done...and make it riskier apparently.

I'm curious about why 16"? Not 10 or 8 or whatever.

Same. 16" makes it very much go big or go home. Which might make some people stop using AD3. Though I'm not sure who among us actually uses AD3?

We use too much terrain for ad3. How often can we even lay a smoke template out?
Next event I'm going to emulate the big event. I'm going to start by pulling scatter.

We use too much terrain? Hm. Less scatter would help with that though make big fire lanes.

I use AD3--sporadically. Some missions "no go" zones make AD3 less useful, and I drop it down to AD2 instead.
