Correct sir. The free merc is limited to a single model.

Except he's not free, per se--you still have to pay the base cost for the unit (assuming the Infinity Army thing is accurate.) Still--thanks! Things to think/plan for.

Level 3 of psi ops I thought was a free model. Regardless of points and SWC it's also not easy to get in effectively two rounds.

I also don't think the army builder accommodates for it.

Will Promotion Rolls be covered for those who wish to go down multiple Military Specs? I would assume so because of the rules mentioning "[using] the Objective Points they earned to improve their Spec Ops or unlock Military Specialties, as per the Infinity Campaign System (ICS) rules set forth in the Infinity. Campaign: Paradiso rulebook", but it's not explicitly laid out in the campaign tourney's rules...
If Promotion Rolls are covered, perhaps it'd be beneficial to list the bonuses to that roll for things like Victory and such and how many XP it costs to allow use of multiple columns.

For a discussion topic, how will you be spending XP? Mostly Military Specs? Mostly Spec Ops? Or some of both?

I was just looking at the promotion roll system today, I'm I correct I assuming that it's a free albeit difficult roll at the end of the game?
We can add a some check boxes for those rolls.

Here is the skinny on promotion....take a warcor, and win the game, and you have a 35 percent chance of getting promotion at the end of the game. Base 1 +3 warcor, +3 win. For the first level

So I am confused how many exp does the spec ops start with? or none?

None - exp is gained through objective points in each mission. Lists are remade before the beginning of each round.

So Spec Ops start the tournament with no xp? I thought they started with 12xp.

The rules john posted: www.adepticon.org/14rules/2014infinitycampaign.pdf Show no starting exp By the ITS 2014 rules, then yes spec ops would start with 12 exp (and everyone gets two lists) However our Spec Ops set up has built in escalation. Objective points gained in each round are converted to exp for use with the Spec Ops model or the Promotions. In ITS 2014, the Spec Ops models do not gain exp through the rounds.

There are two types of tourneys now. The one we are doing and the one where you have a fixed list with a 12xp spec op model.

I'm not sure it's worth taking a spec op then. Especially Shasvastii. See soldiers suck. I wouldn't take one in the hopes I get enough points to make him worthwhile for two more games.
Can the first game not have a spec op and the second two you do?
Is CA limited on Mercs and just what Merc can you take?
