Something that's been nagging at me since the team tournament. I felt that there were things done that I don't think should have happened. Not pointing figures here! Here are some of my rules questions. I've created a diagram for these too. Can figures with the Minelayer skill place a mine on a different level from themselves? ie: a mine on top a building but minelayer on the ground.I'm thinking yes, but with stipulation that you must count the height of the building or or wall into the 8" zone of the minelayer. So if the building or wall is over 8 inches, it can not be deployed on top. I also don't think it can be on the other side of an impassible object. So yes it might be in the Zone of control but it can not be placed unless you have the inches up and over the object. Can a Minelayer put a mine in the exclusion zone of the Antenna Field mission?
To me I don't think the mine should be allowed into the Exclusion zone. I think it's against the spirit of the rule. Mines usually need to be placed in base to base but if the figure could not go in then how did he put the mine there? Attachments:

To the first question I'm pretty sure it has to be on the same level as the minelayer. Not 100% though
Yes mines may be deployed in the exclusion zone. It's been answered by palanka on the forum.

I guess one good thing about it is that if you see the camo marker near the Antenna you know what it is right away. You then also know the next marker within 8" of it but not in the exclusion is the Minelayer.

Palanka answered it on the official forums. The exclusion zone doesn't affect minelayer or cks

Who is Palanka? I can't get the official site at work.
But what about the mine on different levels from the Minelayer?

Palanka is in charge of the its
I can't find anything that says mines deployed using minelayer have to be on the same level as the model placing them. It just says ZOC

If that's the case though then would you take the vertical height of the building into account for the placement? Attachments:

I think ZOC is considered a cylinder, so the angle shouldn't matter.

I think ZOC is considered a cylinder, so the angle shouldn't matter. ZOC is a sphere, so as long as the physical distance between the mine and the minelayer is within 8", it's fine.

Physical distance would mean that you do take vertical height into account then? So which of the below in the image would be right? A, B, or C? Attachments:

Then that's settled, anywhere in the sphere.

B. It's just like when you are shooting at someone from a different height. Measure directly from one marker/person to another.

If it needs to be in the sphere then B wouldn't work unless the figure got closer to the wall.

B would work assuming the line connecting the dots is 8" or less
