There is starting to get quite a lot of people here on this board, and I for one do not really know who all of the people on here are! I think it would be good to just give everyone a quick introduction of who you are, where you live, and what army/armies you play. I'll start things off! My name is Kuo (or as Angron likes to call me: Sparkles), I live in Chicago, and I mostly play Nomads, but do have some Military Orders. Alright, and Go!

Hola,
I'm John, and I too am an addict. My last purchase was Tuesday ( Butai with Missile Launcher and Riot Grl with Spitfire ). I have all of the armies, some terrain and I'm your friendly local TO. I have dual citizenship between Chicago and a Palos Park.
Who's next?

Guess I'll go. Yep it's me. Brian. If I could afford it I would be more of an addict but my addiction goes towards thinking about Infinity all the time and making lists I'll never use. Right now I mostly play Combined with a mostly Shasvastii bent, Yu Jing, and now starting Nomads. Work in Lincolnshire and live in Streamwood.

Hi, I'm David. Finally getting around to finishing my models. Steel Phalanx is first up, now on to the Yu Jing starter. I live in Chicago. I'm into seashell art, photographing Yorgi puppies and Filipino import models... oops sorry thought this was a match.com profile setup page.

Hi, I'm Kayla, coming to you live from Lisle. I play lots of PanO, and only PanO. I'm favoring Vanilla lately since I can then at least use all of my cool toys, unlike with ASA (jungle people). Fireteams are great and all, but since the Svalarheima (Ice World) sectoral list isn't out yet, I wouldn't be able to play with my lovely Nisse girl and still have that option... Plus, that's the painting scheme I'm sort of going for with my army (though that usually only comes into play around Adepticon season, lol!). I'm also the one who is addicted to the rules (lurking the Rules of Engagement forum often close to a tourney) and whose models are often in a state of brokenness since I rarely take time to fix them. Not much an addict of model buying, though, since building is tedious when I can't socialize to the extent I used to be able to while building.

Hi there everyone,
I just moved to chicago this past year from being abroad and I am back into models. I just found out about infinity and joined the forum looking for a place to get info and field and army and join others and all that jazz.
I am interested in the nomads, so thats probably what I am going to go for. If anyone has suggestions of places to buy models in chicago, I would love any info. I live in uptown and I am happy to have found this place. cheers!

I believe Next Dimension is now carrying Infinity. They are here on this board. www.nextdimensiongames.com/I believe the group is having a tournament there in March too.

Welcome to the boards. There are several places around that sell infinity.
I am relatively new to the metro area myself and am still getting familiar with the various stores.
There is a tournament next weekend the 8th iirc at games plus in mt prospect. (There is another post about it) if you want to come and check put the minis and see a few games played.

Hello, everyone. I'm Tim, I live and work in Winfield, and I'm interested in getting started in Infinity. I love the look of the models, and really want to find a good tactical sf game. I've downloaded some of the rules from the site, but does anyone have a good suggestion on getting started? Thanks!

Hi Tim. Have any of the models for a specific faction caught your eye? That seems to be how people get into the game. We find a model(s) we like and then pick up that faction.
Generic advice though, find a faction that you like the looks of or the rules and grab their starter.
If you want to see the models up close and/or play a few games we try to play games every few weeks. Things are busy right now with the lead up to Adepticon. If you're going to that we'll have tables for games and demos.

Well, visually I like the PanO and Nomads, with Jingyu close behind. Do any of those particularly suck?
I'm not sure about Adepticon. The only time I've been was to help out the Black Library guys. I don't play anything competitively, so I'd really just be doing demos and wandering the dealer tables. We'll see.

Ha no they don't.
PanO is the "high tech" faction of infinity, they also typically have higher Ballistic Skill (BS) for shooting and lower WillPower (WP). Nomads are the space nomads (highly original name yes), while PanO are the high tech, Nomads are the Tech faction in a way. Fun remotes (small robots) a few fun TAGs (mecha) and some technology that can be fun to field. Yu-Jing are a heavy infantry faction of sorts. They have a lot of Heavy Infantry and an emphasis on close combat in some models.

I'm a high mobility, glass cannon sort of player. I listed the Nomads largely on the lore for the Hellcats. But thanks for the breakdown. I'll spend some time with the rules and army lists and go from there.
After Adepticon, where do you guys usually play?
